Bric-a-Brac Bric-a-brac brings to an Irish pub its warmth and character, the feeling that the pub has passed through generations. From silver tankards, glass trinkets and sporting objects to whiskey caskets, musical instruments and pictures recalling some bygone Irish era, bric-a-brac was traditionally an assortment of objects lovingly collected over the years by the pub owner, his family and patrons.
Ól Irish Pubs source their bric-a-brac through close and personal contacts with the most reputable and authentic antique dealers throughout the four provinces (...more)
Artwork Ól Irish Pubs' artists bring to your pub a feeling of richness and quality usually found in looking at old masterpieces. Their hand painted murals depict scenes from old folklore and the Book of Kells, one of the most beautifully illuminated manuscripts in the world from 800 AD.
Painting techniques used include rag rolling and sponging, giving the walls a smoked effect normally achieved by 100 years in business. Hand painted family crests, posters, signage and shopfronts, in colours common throughout the Irish landscape, make your pub unique
Lighting Lighting captures the ambience and mood of an Irish pub. Small
snug areas for conversation are created with wall lighting while smoked glass shades hang over the bar.
Recessed halogens with coloured filters, discrete and hidden, can light up a stage for a performing band. Handcrafted in solid brass and copper, our fittings are replica pieces from the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
Furniture Our furniture creates a place to relax, a place to dine, a place to unwind. Mahogany and oak fireplaces, polished to perfection, are the heart of the pub, surrounded by Victorian tables and chairs for intimate gatherings.
Tall stools are perfect for sitting at the bar with your feet on the brass rail or sitting around the tall poseur tables. Long tables and benches provide for comfy dining and king high benches, upholstered in rich velour, offer a king’s view of the bar.
Glass Authentic Irish pubs win much of their charm through the decorative use of glass, leaded, bevelled or stained. Ól Irish Pubs provides a full range of decorative glasswork through gilded mirrors and hand painted windows to stained glass privacy screens, etched glass flyovers and toughened glass display cabinets.
Old Celtic designs add to a true Irish ambience. In its high quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, the glasswork complements the highly polished woodwork of Ól Irish Pubs (...more)
Brass and Metalwork Polishing up like gold, brass brings richness to traditional Irish pubs. Gleaming in contrast to the dark mahogany and teak woods used, brass foot and handrails decorate as well as serving a practical purpose.
Ól Irish Pubs offers a full range of brass fittings from door handles and push plates to hinges and signage. Cast iron metalwork adds a craftsman’s touch as railings, brackets for shelves, and hooks. All metalwork, iron, lead, brass, steel, can be tailored to meet your specific brief.
Detail Joinery The term refers to the non-structural elements of a building, such as doors, architraves and window frames and the quality and variety of such pieces found in Ireland is second to none. The craft involved in the area has been subject to the same variation in style and detail as that of the many periods of Dublin’s rich plasterwork and it’s a unique art in its own right.
