Project Details

The Auld Dubliner Pub chain is co-owned and managed by Eric Johnson and Irishman David Copley. Their aim was to create a collection of authentically Irish pubs throughout the West Coast of the United States. From initial talks with them, we identified that they had secured locations in vastly ranging environments, from ski resorts to deserts, beach locations and city centres. We identified this a key design decision factor, as this meant that their target clientele differed greatly from pub to pub as well as the level of wear and tear they would experience. For their ski resort pubs, we employed heavier woods such as pines as this would stand the test of time against the elements and the heavy footfall of ski boots. With their Long Beach pub’s clientele being mostly tourists, we wanted to create a welcoming family, friendly environment through the incorporation on an open plan design and employment of soft furnishings and lighter woods and wall finishings.

Each Irish pub design we created for the Auld Dubliner Pub Chain was a complete fit out project, starting from an empty shell space to final  complete pub build. Every detail was sourced and built in our workshops here in Ireland and then shipped to their USA destination where our team fitted out the pubs.
